“Take your Firefox passwords anywhere”

by Elena Santos

Password Exporter is a Firefox add-on that, as clearly stated on its name, enables you to export all the passwords saved in the browser to a file, either in XML or CSV file.

The extension makes use of the browser's ability to save any password you enter on any web form, so that you don't have to remember all of them nor type them again.

The same program can be used to import passwords back to the browser, so it works as a great way to move your saved passwords from one PC to another. Just one tip: be very careful with this password list, because although the program features encryption abilities, that doesn't guarantee the safety of your passwords at all.

With Password Exporter you can easily export, backup, share and import all the passwords saved in Firefox.

From the publisher of Password Exporter

This extension allows you to export and import your saved passwords and rejected sites between computers. Your passwords will be exported to an XML or CSV file and can be encrypted.

Notice that the "encryption" is mainly to prevent casual users from stumbling upon your passwords. It will in no way stop someone who actually wants to see them, as they could just import your file anyway.
